Born in Maidstone, Kent, in 1975, Terry gained a degree in Fine Art from Leeds University in 1997 and a Masters in Sculpture in 1999 from Bennington College in the United States. He currently lectures at the University College for the Creative Arts in Rochester, where he is also lead academic for the MAKE (Modelling as an Articulation of Knowledge and Experimentation) Research Cluster. His own artistic practise explores the situational dynamics specific to particular social and architectural contexts, examining the way an embodied sense of place can be restructured as a function of 'sculptural spacing' and alternative forms of social engagement. He has recently completed a PhD in the History and Theory of Art at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
